Staff in the paediatric wards at Wishaw General are aiming to raise £3500 to help children with special educational needs.
A tombola was held in the hospital recently which received great support from staff, patients and visitors.
A superb sum of £750 was raised from the event.
Eileen Gibb, play specialist in ward 19 and 20, said: “We had a really great response from the visitors, staff and patients to the hospital.
“I’d especially like to thank all the staff who gave up their time to run the tombola and for donating presents, and also local businesses for their support.
“We are hoping to raise the money to buy a specialist piece of mobile lighting equipment which is designed to stimulate children’s senses.
“It would be a huge benefit to all children and helps keep them calm when they are receiving treatment.”
Anyone who would like to make a donation can contact Pamela Buddy, senior charge nurse in paediatrics, on 01698 366 200.
