Patients in NHS Lanarkshire are being urged to take part in a national programme to improve health services.
Around 2000 patients who have been inpatients at Hairmyres, Monklands, Wishaw or Lanarkshire’s community hospitals have been sent a questionnaire asking about their experiences in hospital.
The aim of the questionnaire, which is part of the Scottish Government’s Patient Experience Programme, is to use the real experiences of patients to identify ways in which services can be improved.
Paul Wilson, Executive Director of Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals said: "We would encourage anyone who has received a survey to complete and return the questionnaire to Quality Health who are conducting the survey on our behalf.
"As a Board we are keen to learn where services are working well and where areas can be improved. We need to know what patients experienced about the care and treatment they receive so that we can provide truly patient-focused services."
Patients who have not received a survey but would like to share their experiences of health care can also add their comments to a new website.
All stories posted on the site are shared with health boards so they can use these experiences when developing services.

Some patients will also have received a questionnaire about their GP practice at the end of last year. This is a separate survey about their experiences of doctors’ surgeries.
Both surveys are being carried out as part of the Scottish Government and NHS Scotland’s patient experience programme ‘Better Together.’
