Millions are expected to ‘break free’ and stop smoking this week on National No Smoking Day - Wednesday the 10th March 2010.
Now in its 27th year, this year’s theme for No Smoking Day is encouraging smokers to ‘break free’ from their habit and escape the chains of addiction.
Nancy Docherty, NHS Lanarkshire stop smoking service manager, said “No Smoking Day provides an excellent opportunity for people to give up smoking.
“However it’s important to note that our specialist smoking cessation services are available all year round to offer advice and support to smokers who want to stop.
“By using the support available on No Smoking Day and throughout the year you can significantly increase your chance of success.”
Smokers throughout Lanarkshire can access help and support from the NHS Lanarkshire Stop Smoking Service where they are offered advice and support in conjunction with free nicotine replacement therapy from trained nurse advisors.
