A report submitted to NHS Lanarkshire by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) highlighted the need to develop a system to better manage car parks across all NHS Lanarkshire sites.
Colin Lauder, NHS Lanarkshire head of planning and development, said: “Patients, staff and visitors know that congestion within NHS Lanarkshire car parks can be an issue. We want to ensure that all parking is managed safely, and appropriately, and to put in place arrangements to deal with problem parking.
“This process will also give us an opportunity to provide more suitable parking for patients, especially those with mobility difficulties, and key staff.
“A group has been established, with staff and patient representatives, to review the car parking arrangements. This group has drafted a proposed car parking policy and we would like to get the views of the public, particularly from patients and visitors, on what is being proposed.”
The proposed car parking policy is available here.
Comments on the draft policy are invited and should be made by 5.00pm on Tuesday 31 January 2012 and will form part of the final submission to the NHS Lanarkshire Board.
