New car park opens at Monklands Hospital

A new car park with 151 spaces has opened at Monklands Hospital.

The car park, which is located at the rear of the hospital, is part of ongoing works to provide better on-site parking.

Colin Lauder, NHS Lanarkshire head of planning and development, said: “In addition to the new car park, work to repair potholes and pavements will take place over the next few weeks.

“We aim to keep any disruption to a minimum by managing the work around the usage of the site.”

NHS Lanarkshire is still looking for views on proposed changes to car parking arrangements at hospitals and health centres.

The proposed car parking policy is available on the NHS Lanarkshire public website ‘Get Involved – consultation and engagement’ section - http://www.nhslanarkshire.org.uk/Involved/consultation/Pages/Carparking.aspx

Comments on the draft policy are invited before 5pm on Tuesday 31 January by emailing graham.johnston@lanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk, fax 01698 858279 or post to Mr G Johnston, head of management services, NHS Lanarkshire Kirklands House, Fallside Road, Bothwell, G71 8BB.
