Dementia cafe launched

New initiative launched at Motherwell's Fir Park

The Dementia Café and Information Sharing Centre is for anyone who wants to find out more about memory problems.

A café to promote care for people with dementia and memory problems will open at Motherwell’s Fir Park stadium on Friday 5 August.

The Dementia Café and Information Sharing Centre is for anyone who wants to find out more about memory problems.

Organised by NHS Lanarkshire’s Motherwell Community Mental Health Team for Older People, the café will open from 1pm to 4pm within the centenary suite of the stadium.

Initially intended as a pilot, the café will be evaluated using the experiences of those who use it, and if found to be beneficial there may be scope to continue the project and even mirror the service in other areas to ensure equality across Lanarkshire.
