A new carers’ support group specialising in eating disorders is being launched in Lanarkshire.

Two open events are being held initially to get the views of carers on the best format for the group.

These events will be held on:

  • Thursday 19 November, from 2pm to 3.30pm, in the Social Work Building, 92 Hallcraig Street, Airdrie; and
  • Monday 23 November, 6.30pm to 8pm, in the Training Suite, of the Princess Royal Trust

Lanarkshire Carers Centre, 46 Campbell Street, Hamilton.

Diane Kane, specialist occupational therapist for NHS Lanarkshire’s Tier Three Eating Disorder Service, said: “The main aims of the group are to reduce isolation among carers and provide information, specialist support and training for carers.

“It will also provide help with the wider impacts of caring for someone with an eating disorder, such as financial, health and social.”
