Vascular Services Managed Clinical Network

NHS Lanarkshire now has an established Managed Clinical Network (MCN) for Vascular Services, which is leading to improved patient care. The aim of an MCN is to bring different health professionals and organisations together and help them work in a coordinated manner without restrictions

MCNs are linked groups of health professionals and organisations across different sections of the Health Service, such as GP practices and hospital departments.

The aim of an MCN is to bring these different health professionals and organisations together and help them work in a more coordinated manner without restrictions. This should ensure that all patients will receive the same high quality care.

It is particularly important that patients, carers and the public, as well as all staff, are involved in the design of services and in making them more responsive to local circumstances.

MCNs must ensure that clinical care is delivered in a smooth and supportive manner, helping patients to move from one part of the service to another with the minimum of disruption or delay.
