The Haven Blantyre 

 

The Haven is a registered charity which provides holistic support to people affected by life limiting illness including cancer, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, Parkinson’s Disease and Huntington’s Disease.

The Haven is a drop in centre, where there is no need for referral.  Patients, carers, families and friends can receive advice, information and support, in a relaxed and welcoming environment, to help them copy with the physical, mental and spiritual effects of illness.

All support services at The Haven are free and totally confidential. 

The Haven has won the following prestigious awards:

Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service

On 2nd June 2009 The Haven was awarded the Queen’s award for Voluntary Service. This prestigious National Honour, which is the equivalent to the MBE, sets the national benchmark for excellence in volunteering and the activities of those awarded have been judged of the highest standard. The Haven is one of only 11 Scottish volunteering groups selected form the 406 organisations nominated by members of the public who have been helped personally by the group’s work in the community.
