East Kilbride + District Dementia Carers Group
Our daycare is based in a small homely building, which makes it appear more like ‘visiting a friend’ than attending a centre! We have a high ratio of staff and volunteers to service users, meaning that we can spend plenty of time with each individual who attends; getting to know them, their likes and dislikes, and building up careplans that are unique to each individual. More importantly... building relationships with them, earning their trust, and supporting them.
We have monthly meetings in our daycare centre (dates and details of the meetings can be found on our website – address below). They are relaxed, informal and open to anyone who would benefit from attending. Transport can generally be provided to and from the meetings upon request. All meetings commence at 7pm and generally end between 9pm and 10pm but carers are free to come and go as their needs dictate. A relaxation room is available for carers who would like to take some time out. Complimentary tea/coffee and sandwiches are generally served at meetings.
