Referral to the Assessment and Treatment Unit can only be made by the Learning Disability Psychiatrists.
The referral criteria must be met before any referral will be considered.
The timescale of the assessment process can take between two to eight weeks, depending upon each individual’s health needs.
The decision to discharge an individual from the Assessment & Treatment Unit rests with the Psychiatrist.
