Other members of the Learning Disability team can become involved in the patients care if required:
- Psychologist
- Physiotherapist
- Dietician
- Speech & Language Therapist
- Occupational Therapist
- Forensic Nurse Practitioner
- Transition Nurse Practitioner
- Epilepsy Nurse Practitioner
These people will either visit the patient in the unit or assess them within the therapy departments within the hospital.
The Psychiatry staff will visit the patient on a regular basis within the assessment unit. The senior doctor in charge of patient care is the Consultant Psychiatrist, who will is supported by a team of junior doctors.
Nursing staff from the Assessment Unit may visit the patients within the community setting i.e. home or work place.
