Tests for Heart Disease
If you are suspected of having heart disease or have suffered a heart attack, your doctor will want to carry out a series of tests to determine how your heart is performing.
These tests may be carried out at your GP practice, at an outpatient clinic or when you have been admitted to hospital.
Usually these tests will be carried out by staff called Cardiac Clinical Physiologists or Cardiographers, who are specially trained in recording and analysing how your heart is working. This group of staff play a key role in the care of heart disease patients and you will meet them whenever you are having a test on your heart carried out.
These pages provide you with more information about the kinds of tests you may be asked to have. Please select the tests you are interested in from the options on the left.
