Mental Health - Promoting, Improving & Awareness
Aim:
For those with little or no knowledge of mental health improvement who would like to learn more about the simple measures they can take to support mental health improvement in their workplace or for their clients. Please note that the course does not cover the signs/symptoms of mental health problems or how to support people with mental ill health.
Learning Outcomes:
- Develop an understanding of the concept of mental health improvement and its role in promoting well-being and preventing illness.
- Explore the impact of equality and diversity issues on mental health and well-being.
- Provide information about effective initiatives.
- Provide a range of practical activities to develop the mental health improvement role.
- Recommend ways in which mental health improvement activities can be planned, monitored and evaluated.
Target Group:
The course is aimed at a range of staff working in the voluntary sector, health service, local authority, other statutory services including prisons and police, education institutions and private sector. It provides an ideal opportunity for local organisations to work together and come up with a planned mental health improvement intervention.
