Drugs Awareness - Young Persons Approach
Aim:
- To explore personal and societal attitudes towards young people and drug use.
- To increase awareness of staff working with young people on issues related to drug use.
Learning Outcomes:
- An understanding as to why young people use drugs.
- An awareness of own views regarding young people and drug use.
- An appreciation as to how drugs can affect individuals in different ways.
- An understanding of the different patterns of drug use.
- Consider different methods of effective communication with young people in order to facilitate drug-related discussions.
- Increased confidence in response to drugs and young people within the workplace.
Target Group:
For staff/volunteers who work with young people, already have a basic knowledge of drugs awareness and would like to implement their knowledge and experience using a young person approach.
