To register with a GP simply telephone or visit a practice in the area you reside and ask if you can register with them. If their list is open, and you reside in the same area, there should be no problems.
However, if you wish to register outwith your residential area (near your place of work, for example), this is at the discretion of the practice.
When you visit you should take with you details of:
- Your name
- Date of birth
- Birth certificate
- Address (even if this is temporary)
- Phone number (if you have one)
- Any health records you may have such as vaccination records or immunisation records.
If you are also registering other members of your family, you should also take along the same information for them.
