Who are we?
We are children's nurses who work throughout Lanarkshire for children in the community setting.
The team consists of:
- Community Children's Nurses
Provide care for children aged 0-16 years and their families who require the support of a Community Children's Nurse with a specific focus on children with complex care needs.
- Specalist Nurses
There are a number of specialist nurses working with children who have specific conditions. These nurses are part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting children with long term conditions.
The schools nurses for children with Additional Support Needs schools are also part of this team.
- Education and Training to children, their families, health, education, social work and voluntary personnel
- Care co-ordination
- Emotional support
- Practical support
- Information resource
Hours of Service:
Monday - Friday 09.00-17.00 hours
(there may be agreed flexibility to meet the needs of the service)
Out-with these hours, should you have any concerns about your child, please contact your GP's out of hours service or NHS 24 on 0845 24 24 24.
Children with Diabetes should contact the Paediatric Registrar on call via Wishaw General Hospital Tel: 01698 361 100.
