Healthy Lifestyle Award for Braveheart
The Braveheart nurses won the Healthy Lifestyle Award for their health promotion work in the community at the Scottish Health Awards.
The nurses conduct health checks in the community and workplaces to identify the symptoms or causes of potential coronary heart disease, stroke and diabetes. The nurses then offer advice on how to prevent these conditions by leading a healthier, more active lifestyle.
Braveheart co-ordinator Helen Sneddon said: “I was absolutely overwhelmed when they announced the Braveheart team as the winners. We are so proud to achieve the Healthy Lifestyle award and thoroughly enjoyed the ceremony.”
Chief executive Tim Davison said: “This award demonstrates the Braveheart team’s outstanding commitment to improving the health and well-being of people in Lanarkshire. I’d also like to commend all staff who reached the final stages of the awards. This is an immense achievement.”
