Local Services 

 

NHS Lanarkshire's Mental Health Services include adult mental health, child and adolescent mental health and old age psychiatry.

There are Acute psychiatric beds at HairmyresMonklands and Wishaw Hospitals and Old Age Psychiatry beds at CoathillUdston and Cleland.

There are also a wide range of community mental health teams and services throughout Lanarkshire.

  • This service is for people who suffer severe and enduring mental health problems.
  • Disabled access: No – Clients are seen at clinics or at home.
  • Method of referral: Written referrals are preferred, telephone referrals are accepted.

  • The team offers multi-disciplinary and comprehensive treatment to people with severe and enduring mental illness.
  • The main focus includes: health maintenance programmes; support framework; relapse prevention; maintenance of social functioning; joint working first presentation psychosis with focused intervention teams; social and recreational opportunities.
  • Disabled Access: Yes
  • Age group: 16 to 64
  • Method of referral: Written referrals are preferred by GP, psychiatry and referring agencies
