Sexual Health Services for Addiction Services

When someone becomes addicted to drugs or alcohol they often neglect themselves. Things like sexual health is not their highest priority. However, we are all sexual beings and even when we are not in a relationship or having sex we should keep an eye on our sexual health.

Part of the reason a person becomes addicted in the first place might be to do with sexual health. If someone has been abused or sexually assaulted they may turn to drugs or alcohol.

Being addicted to drugs or alcohol can lead to people forming relationships they would not have before - such as exchanging sex for shelter, food or money. It can also be harder to protect against HIV or other sexually transmitted infections.
